enter
bash ~/Downloads/Anaconda3-2020.07-Linux-x86_64.sh
This will start the installation process.

open terminal
you should se (base) at the beginning of your prompt.
This means the conda environment is active!
type python --version
to get your python version.
type conda -- version
to get your conda version.

cd .local/share/applications
touch anaconda-navigator.desktop
open files, go to .local/share/applications (if needed, enable “show hidden files”)
open file anaconda-navigator.desktop and add the following. (Replace | your user name | with your actual ubuntu user name. |
